Multimodal Presentation

Synopsis of Multimodal Presentation :
For my presentation, I have chosen to examine the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson, a French photographer best known for his candid work and use of 35mm film. He is also considered the pioneer of street photography, and his work exemplifies the beauty of capturing moments of everyday life. Henri’s use of black and white photography gives his photos an old and mysterious feel, but through the phenomenal use of lighting techniques, he is able to capture images that almost feel timeless. Most of his photographs have been captured in Europe and other various countries, depicting life in the late 90s. The images I have chosen represent some of his excellent work.

My New Perception of Photography:
Through Henri Cartier-Bresson’s work, I have been able to appreciate the art of storytelling through photography. Being able to convey a message or give meaning to a photograph is something I want to learn more about. Henri’s work perfectly exemplifies the depth a simple photo can have and how the use of proper photographic techniques can aid the general message the artist wished to convey. Additionally, Henri Cartier-Bresson’s use of candid photography captures life at the moment in its purest form and has given me a greater appreciation for this type of work.
