I really enjoyed your presentation, you did a great job selecting photos that represent Mary Ellen Mark's work as a whole and you also did a great job analyzing each photo.
I enjoyed watching your presentation and the critiques you shared with us. I found the background you gave on each photo to be very informative, along with the captions, helped give more context. Each category you gave for the photographs seemed to be spot on and helped me understand the photos better. After viewing the photos, I find that Henri Cartier-Bresson’s use of candid photos helps to contribute to the rawness and reality of each situation, something I will consider for the photographs I take in the future. Additionally, I think the use of black and white photos helps to make the viewer analyze the photo and the subject more closely without any of the distractions that color…

I thought Japa's speech was very clear and brief. And this demonstration shows his understanding of Henri Cartier-Bresson's work. I think if I need to improve, I can reduce my speaking speed, because it is easy to lose track of the rhythm when I speak too fast. Throughout the presentation, it reflects what we learned in the Criticizing Photographs in Chapter 4 especially in terms of ethically evaluation. In this work, I feel Henri's method of conveying more profound information through simple photos. In addition, the photos are displayed in black and white, which highlights the mystery of the works and the way people can't help but deepen their thinking.
